Warwick History Just east of Warwick is a tourist drive known as the Settlers Route. It leads visitors on a historical journey through the Southern Downs. A guide to the driving route is available at the Warwick Visitor Information Centre. It’s a self-drive journey that includes out-of-the-way stops such as Yangan & Swan Creek Cemetery.
Another essential stop for those interested in the area’s history is Pringle Cottage in Warwick. The sandstone museum contains items that represent over 130 years of family life in the area.
Also sitting proudly on the Settler’s Route is ‘R on the Downs’ a B&B housed in a federation- style Queenslander. It contains four bedrooms, each with their own en suite. The home’s position affords wonderful views over of the surrounding area… so you can live the life of gentry, at least for the duration of your stay! Rooms at R on the Downs start at $160 per couple per night and that includes a full breakfast. Dinner can be supplied upon request.
