ecoRidge Hideaway

ecoRidge Hideaway

Darling Downs has a new accommodation option with a difference. The ecoRidge Hideaway, located 15 minutes south of Toowoomba has taken the concept of ‘eco tourism’ to extreme.

Accommodation

There are three cabins available; one caters to a family of four, while the other two are perfect for a couples weekend away. The cabins have all the usual luxuries- full kitchen, fireplace and deck with beautiful views, but these cabins have also been designed to reduce your carbon footprint.

Solar Panels

Each building has on-grid solar electricity; solar hot water and worm activated waste water system. Each cabin also has recycling facilities and its own worm farm for scraps.

Cabin

The buildings have been designed to make the most of the easterly breezes – with tinted windows, high ceilings and cross ventilation, so there is no need for air-conditioning.

View

Perched on a ridge of the Great Dividing Range at 650 metres the cabins look out on Mt Campbell, the highest peak in the area. The property is spread across 50 acres, with walking tracks and picnic areas made of recycled wood.
