MSQ Slow Down

One of the biggest complaints made to Maritime Safety Queensland and other enforcement bodies is from people who’ve come off second best because boaties have been driving too quickly.

Excess wash causes damage to other boats, jetties, and pontoons and is responsible for erosion. MSQ officers advise that you travel at a safe speed from which you can avoid a collision, think about conditions like visibility and water depth and hazards and take traffic into consideration if there are lots of other people on the water.

If you break the rules you will be fined $150.
