Active and Healthy Mountain Biking If the most varied terrain your mountain bike sees is the footpath or a gutter now and then, it’s about time you really learnt how to have fun on two wheels.
The Brisbane City Council run regular mountain bike courses as part of their Real Adventure Women, or RAW, program. The lessons are taught by Rob George from Roadie Rob's Bicycle School and cover the fundamentals of how to ride off-road. The two hour classes also include a group ride on what mountain bikers call 'single track'. These narrow trails through the bush are the perfect spot to put all of those skills into action and have a bit of fun.
For more information on the RAW program contact the Brisbane City Council, or check out their Active and Healthy website for a full list of upcoming activities near you.
Ladies-only mountain bike classes start at $15. Roadie Rob also offers private lessons and mixed classes. Give him a call for more details.
